Moms Demand Action Panel
April 29, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
On Sunday, April 29th, the Essex County chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will host a panel of three local survivors of gun violence, where they will share their stories, and discuss gun violence from a firsthand perspective.
The three panelists – Charlene Hoverter, Tiffany Starr, and Katy McClure – will not only speak about the incidents which they survived, but also about the ways in which Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety have supported, connected, and advocated for survivors everywhere.
All three are participants in the Everytown Survivor Network, a community through which survivors can talk with and empower one another as they tell their stories, and get help from those who truly understand what they have endured.
Following the panel, attendees will be invited to stay and write letters to local survivors of gun violence, showing their support and dedication to helping them, and all those who have been victims of gun violence in America.
The event starts at 2 pm and will be at the De Hart Community Center, 120 Burnett Avenue, Maplewood, NJ. Questions on the event can be directed to momsdemandessexnj@gmail.com.
