Panel Discussion – Expungement Eligibility Requirements

In 2020, Governor Murphy signed a law as part of his “Second Chance Agenda” to improve expungement laws and create an automatic expungement process. Despite the new law, there has been little outside advocacy to address the delays in implementation or to create urgency to move forward.
An implementation campaign is desperately needed to ensure the law is properly implemented, that it has the impact it intended, and that we leverage that law for further improvements in the sealing process for our people.
In that spirit of action & urgency, we invite you to join our Zoom meeting with an expert panel of policy, organizing, and legal experts to discuss the current challenges with expungement implementation and how to incorporate impacted voices into future advocacy and reforms.
