Education is a vital cornerstone of our society, and local school boards play a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape in our communities. If you are interested in understanding how decisions are made at the local level and in making a difference in our education system, this training is for you. Join us to get an overview of local New Jersey school boards — including their structure, responsibilities, and decision-making processes. Learn how to advocate for change within the school board framework and engage effectively with board members.
The Activist Training Program was launched in 2021 with the goal of providing free and nonpartisan public education and training on the knowledge and skills activists need to drive grassroots change and defend democracy.
LWVNJ offers training in 4 core areas:
- Understanding New Jersey Government
- Grassroots Organizing
- Voter Outreach
- Legislative Advocacy
These trainings are open to League members and members of the public who support the League’s mission and goals.
